instead of “losing” the vacancy once expired, I would like to still have them listed. they could have some kind of “flag” indicating expired or “Job closed”, or “Filled vacancy” so that it remains on my page. so they can show just that applications will no longer be possible.

Currently, when a job is expired, it still exists on your site. When a visitor opens it, the expired status will be shown. If you want to add a flat to expired jobs on the job listing, you should make some customizations to your site.
In addition, we will discuss with our developer about this question, if possible, we will try to find the best solution in the future.

Currently jobs with status expired are not fetched by the query. Tell me how to modify the query in functions.php so I can fetch and display the expired jobs too in a search results
