I am going to request this again as I hope that one day you will start to think logically.
Username should not be listed on a resume.
Here is why:
A user decides to register for my website. At the time of registration they do not realize that they will be interacting with companies. So they choose the username I_Eat_Farts.
After registering they see that they can post a resume, so they fill out the details. Now they have a resume with the title "I_Eat_Farts". Any employer that sees this will think that my website is a joke. It's quite logical that username should not be included on resume heading. It would be better to only include the user's full name.
As you mentioned I can use the plugin "Loco Translate" to change username field to "full name". This creates other issues. Here is why:
The same username field for candidates is also used when companies register with the website. And for companies the username is used as the company name. If I change "username" to "full name" it will appear to candidates that there isn't an actual company hiring, rather an individual.
Please fix these critical design flaws soon! If you need help understanding the logic behind my request and how this improves your product feel free to reach out so that we can discuss!!
3 years, 11 months ago #1210351Dear, Please kindly clearly:
1. The Jobica theme use 'Display name' to display on Resumes list.2. Because the 'Display name field' not support on Register form, so default it will use Username as Display Name when candidate register account.
3. After login, the Candidate can go to 'My Profile' then edit Full Name and the Display name field will use data of Full name field.
That is work base of Jobica. please check again.
Best regards.
3 years, 11 months ago #1210409You are right. If a candidate wants to waste their time and go back to edit their profile then they can make this change on their own.
This is TERRIBLE user experience.
No user wants to make a username then go back and change that username later. The only reason users choose a job board is because it is easy to use.
I have professionally built out over 50 job boards and I work with multiple US agencies. I am sharing my knowledge with you so that you can improve this platform. Please take my advice and put it to work, so that you can improve a deprecated theme.
3 years, 11 months ago #1210491If user register account then don't want edit profile, you think what is data with display on resume ? username or email ? Because when register only allow username and email.
