Hi
We have a site that was set up sometime ago but left with no attention. We're coming back to refresh it and have some lack of understanding with some issues. To begin with membership registration process. The initial form requires user's display name, first name, last name etc. We have email confirmation switched on. #1 Email link Auto login When the email is received by the new user and the link is clicked the user is taken to the Profile screen already logged in. This does not seem secure. I was expecting to be presented with the member login screen. #2 Last Name Now on the Profile form for the first time the new user has not received any instructions about the importance of filling in their details here. Can this be added ?
Assuming they go ahead they will add various details about themselves, some fields optional, some mandatory. On this form the First Name and the Last Name fields are already populated with the details from the original registration form - which is good. However on saving the profile form for the first time the First Name value is replaced with the 'Display Name' and the last Name field is blanked, despite it being marked as mandatory. Now if any edits are made to the Profile a warning will be shown that the Last Name field cannot be left blank - although it was not blanked by the user it was auto blanked.
Please advise how to deal with these 2 issues

Can anyone help here? We did just paid for another license to get support.
The main issue is why the First Name and Last Name fields on the Profile page are being changed on Save.
thanks
2 weeks, 2 days ago #1222837Is there a specific reason why this request support is being ignored?
We're here for support, we paid again for a licence just to get support.
We'd expect some recognition after 5 days of waiting and seeing support responses to every other post on this forum.2 weeks, 2 days ago #1222839Hi.
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for the late response.
1. Do you want to change the logic when clicking confirm email, the user will not auto-login to the site?
2. Please provide us with your site URL, admin account. We need access to your site to check the configuration.
Regards.

Thanks for replying.1. We would at least like to test a change in the logic if it's possible.
It doesn't seem 'best practice' security-wise to have a link in an email that performs an auto-login.
It seems the email links are limited to be valid for only one click but is there a time limit applied too? Does the link expire after so many hours if not clicked?
2. Will reply privately next.
