Hey there JobMonster Support,
While using my website, users reported that the Job Search wasn't working properly. I checked it out immediately - and their reports were true.
I'm running a pretty simple Job Search with only a few extra Custom Fields I've added. All of the fields except the keywords one are Multi-Select fields. Here's an example of my issue:
Clicking several of the multiselect fields, let's say Full Time jobs, Part Time jobs and Internships. Logically, you'd expect the search results to return Full Times, Part Times and Internships - because all of them match the criteria I've selected, seperately. However, this is not the case. Searching like this gives back job posts that are marked as Part Time, Full Time and Internship, all together. This is a pretty unusual thing for job posters, so usually you'd get no results. What I want is when someone selects a job type using the multiselect field, they should receive each selected job type that matches at least ONE of their search parameters, not all of them at the same time. Otherwise, there's no point in a multiselect field?
Is there a way to rectify this issue? If not, are you planning to fix this in a future JobMonster update?

I've updated JobMonster to it's most recent version (4.5.2.4), and the issue still persists. Would you mind checking again?
Thank you.

We also got access to your website then checked it carefully.
Currently, you don't have any jobs which combined Full Time & Freelance (for example). Because the search sidebar is written by the combination between these fields.
For example, You request to search job type is Freelancer & Full Time, the system will find jobs which correspond 2 requires.
In case, we also got access to your job, then configure as this image: https://prnt.sc/n1qcqq
Please see this result, it works fine: https://www.punajuaj.com/?s=&type%5B%5D=freelance&type%5B%5D=full-time&post_type=noo_job
You should check it, then feedback us.
Best Regards,

5 years, 8 months ago #1071023I think that you have not understood my issue.
On the link you've sent me, I only get one job, which matches both criteria, of freelance AND full time. What I want is for the search to give me back results of jobs that match freelance OR full time. So, I should be getting different jobs, some of them freelance, some full time, and some that match both of the criteria.
Something like this search fulfills what I need.

Thanks for your feedback.
Currently, Jobmonster's search function is built by AND LOGIC. That means it will find the exact criteria which you request to search.
As your recommendation link, it is OR LOGIC.
Hopefully, you can understand it.
Best Regards,
NooTheme

Do you have any plans to implement a way to change the search in the future, or can something be done manually about this?
