Hello,
My client purchased jobmonster only after I inquired recently via the comments if it support categories and subcategories for both Jobs and Companies, and you replied that it did.
Now, after beginning to install I discover that it is using the /Job Categories/ for the Company Categories. This makes no sense, and we need the Company Categories to be it's own thing. Company categories would be like:
-Financial/Accounting
-Financial/Banking,
-Legal/Estates,
-Legal/Family Law"
these are not job titles or job categories. Job categories would be:
-Financial/Actuary
-Financial/Accountant
-Legal/Paralegal
-Legal/Clerk"
etc.
How can we get this change made?

Thanks for contacting us.
We also asked our supporter in ThemeForest market. It seems that there is a misread between our supporter and you.
Currently, we supported Categories and Sub-Categories for jobs and companies together. Because the main purpose of an employer is the posting job. Thus, it isn't necessary for a company to create a separated category.
Please check, then give us your opinion.
Thank you.

5 years, 10 months ago #1069518I am telling you what we need the software to do.
We /need/ the software to provide Categories and Sub-Categories separately for Employers.
At this point there are three options:
1) you add the feature to your software--this would be easiest, since you already know your software
2) I add the feature to your software--this may take a while for me to figure out, hopefully you would at least assist me
3) I advise my client to choose different software since yours does not have the feature they need--this would mean a negative review
5 years, 10 months ago #1069523It makes zero sense for a Business category to be the same as a Job category. Businesses are not categorized by the various job titles of their employees--this just doesn't work.
I would think you would want to make this change to your software so that it makes sense in the first place. Why not?
A business category could be Food/Restaurant, a job category for an employee at a restaurant could be anything from 'Finance/Accountant' to 'Service/Chef' to 'Administrative/Assistant'. Job category and Company category are not the same thing at all. They need to be separate things--especially to satisfy the primary purpose of your software.

Thanks for your feedback.
Because our supporter and you have a little confusion. Thus, after discussion, they decided to return your money. This will help you to choose other products.
Please request a refund on Envato, we will check it.

5 years, 10 months ago #1070371Hello,
I'd like to breathe some life in to this question again.
I agree with harold4news above where he says that Job Categories are not the same as Company Categories.
What a job listing informs an applicant of what they could be doing at the company is different to what a company profile informs an applicant of what the whole company does.
To that end, I don't need Company Categories. I think it creates confusion for anyone listing ALL job and company categories together.
Is there a way to disable Company Categories?
Thank you
Malcolm

It's under Custom Fields > Company (Employer)
Thanks 🙂
