I have been receiving a lot of spam user registrations (approximately 50-100 per day). The site currently has 2 contact forms, both of which are protected by a reCAPTCHA 'I am not a robot' tool. However, I do not know how to add this function to the website registration. Please could you let me know how to do this and whether this will stop the problem?
The site is currently sitting behind an Under Construction page, so I'm surprised that spammers can even access the registration form, as you can only see it by adding /wp-admin to the URL.

Are you try to install some spam protected plugin?

Thanks for the reply. I have installed anti-spam software, but I did not know how to enable Captcha on the registration form. I have just enabled it, so hopefully this will stop the problem.

I added the Captcha by ticking the settings in Job Monster settings. This didn't stop the spam registrations. So I upgraded to ReCaptcha. But I ams till receiving quite a lot of spam registrations. Are there any other things that I should try?

It seems that the spam registrations may be getting in from somewhere else. I did a test, when a user registers they need to select either employer or candidate. But the spam registrations are all 'contributors' not employers or candidates. How is this possible?

Thank you for feedback us.
I'm not sure about that, maybe the issue from your hosting/ server. Are you turn on the ReCaptcha like that http://prntscr.com/f5rm8z?
Can you give us your site info, admin account? We will help you check it again.

Thank you for feedback us and sorry for the late response.
As I see, the ReCaptcha enabled on your register form. Do you still have the issue on your site?
Please let us know again.

Thanks for the response. Yes we do still have the issue. We currently have nearly 500 spam contributors (the site is not even live yet and is still behind a holding page). Are there any other things we can do?

I have enabled Require Email Confirmation when registered user, maybe can help you fix that issue.
You should delete subscriber user and check it again.

Hopefully that will help. I will let you know in a few days if I still receive them...
Thanks for your help.

I am still getting quite a lot of spam registrations (about 12 in the last 12 hours). For a few days after you adjusted the settings for Require Email Confirmation I did not receive any registrations. But they have started again.
What else could be the problem?
