I have set my cover letter field to "Hidden" but when an applicant applies for a job it still appears and prompts the applicant to complete the field. Can you please help.
See Attachments for details.

This option Apply with Linkedin. Applying via Linkedin also comes with Cover letter field. Set it as required, optional or hidden.
You can see link below
When you choose Hiddent Cover letter of Apply with Linkedin will disable

Thank you for your response. So what you are basically trying to tell me is that this field applies only to candidates applying via LinkedIn? But it would be good as well if you could make it available for the other options as well because not all employers require a cover letter. Especially in my country. Think about it.

Please go to noo-jobmonster\layouts\apply_job_form.php and delete this code
<div class="form-group"> <label for="application_message" class="control-label"><?php _e('Message','noo')?></label> <textarea class="form-control jform-validate" id="application_message" name="application_message" rows="5" placeholder="<?php esc_attr_e('Your cover letter/message sent to the employer','noo')?>"></textarea> </div>
Line 65 => 68
Please notice that the order of line can change based on each updated version. Therefore, you should find the code according to keywords in files I give to you
I suggest you consider using Child Theme. It’s safer than editing the main theme’s file, and you can update our main theme ( with automatically update function ) without worrying about losing your modification.
You can find the sample child theme on the package you downloaded from ThemeForest. And you will need to read the comment on the child theme’s functions.php file
Here are some links about child theme:

We will add new features, if such features have many customers ask. 🙂
I am sorry to say that, We do not add this option in the new version.
We have a separate marketing department. I worked in customer support. Maybe, you can use yoast seo plugin

Thank you for your response. I will delete the code and see what happens.
The candidates on my website are complaining because there is no field for REFERENCES. Employers in my country call past employers (i.e REFERENCES) for more information about candidates Work Experience.
I would like to add a field for that right below SKILLS. It should look like the one for WORK EXPERIENCE.
Thank you in advance.4 years, 7 months ago #30103
